2015 Oscar Awards

The Oscar Awards happen to be the most anticipated event of awards season and are also highly awaited on the fashion calendar. So its no surprise then that both the red carpet and the Vanity Fair After Party have given us loads to talk about. Here are some of my favourite looks from the night.

O1 O10

Lupita Nyong’o looked absolutely breath-taking in this custom Calvin Klein gown embellished with over 6000. Not only did she kill it on the red carpet but she slayed it at the Vanity Fair after Party in another exquisite Calvin Klein dress that made her look like a life-sized Oscar award.

O4

Jennifer Aniston looked head-to-toe perfection in this sparkly Versace creation. I love that she kept her hair simple and let the dress do all the talking. Effortless!

O2

Jennifer Lopez had a real Cinderella moment in this show-stopping Elie Saab ball gown. The colour is perfect on her (it basically looks like an extension of her skin) and I love the combination of the neutral make-up and slick ponytail which allow the dress to take centre stage. Va va voom!

O3

Rosemund Pike looked so elegant in this gorgeous red Givenchy number. The simplicity of the red satin sandals perfectly compliment this embroided lace dress. Does the sheer sides and belt on the waist remind anyone else of Kim Kardashian’s wedding dress? It is the same designer after all…

O9

Chris Pine looks super slick in this double-breasted Giorgio Armani tuxedo. The suit is tailored to perfection and the bow-tie is a great addition for this specific event.

O8

David Oyelowo’s maroon Dolce & Gabbana’s suit is everything. I love that he took such a risk for the Oscars. Definitely paying off!

O12

Common looked super dashing in this Prada ensemble. I love the navy velvet jacket with the charcoal pants. Two thumbs up.

O6

Eddie Redmayne and Hannah Bagshawe looking like the perfect pair in Alexander McQueen. I love that Eddie as a nominee opted for a navy suit rather than a black one. Hannah’s dress is impeccable but understated just enough to let Eddie have his moment and just compliments his suit so well.

O11

Benedict Cumberbatch and Sohpie Hunter are the epitome of perfection in Lanvin. I love this modern take on old Hollywood glamour. Benedict looks classic in the white jacket-black pants ensemble and I love how the pops of gold on Sophie’s dress, shoes and bag all tie in together. Brilliant!
